Look around my website and you can see my love for Peloton come through. I own the Bike Plus, the Tread, and enjoy using all the content on the app.

I also spend a ton of time in the Peloton Facebook and Reddit groups. And, I am familiar with all the common questions when it comes to Peloton.

A very common question I have seen is what is the Peloton weight limit on the bike?

According to Peloton the weight limit for the bike is 297 lbs.

And when it comes to height the bike fits riders between 4' 11" and 6' 5".

Is there an age limit?

While I have seen plenty of people let their kids use the bike, the official recommendation from Peloton is 14 years old.

What about a weight limit for the Tread?

Here is the official word from Peloton:

The Peloton Tread is built and tested only for users between 4'11'' and 6'4'' in height, and between 105 and 300 lbs (48 - 136 kg) in weight.

Do I really have to follow the weight limit on the bike?

I am going to go ahead and tell you I have seen many people post that they have used the bike at higher weights and heights.

Do I personally know for sure that this is safe, and will not void the warranty? No, I do not.

Over the years I have seen this question come up many times, and people who are over the weight limit have chosen to go ahead and get the bike.

Yes, cycling can be low impact and is a great way to get started exercising when trying to lose weight and add cardio into your routine. I have lost close to 40 pounds since I originally got my bike.

If you would rather not risk buying the bike while over the weight limit, the Peloton app is a great option for working out and you do not need the bike to use it at all.

If you have access to a gym you can use any stationary bike with the app and access the Peloton content.

Or buy another brand with a higher weight limit and use the Peloton app.

The app also has strength, pilates, barre, yoga, cardio, running, walking and other types of exercise that does not require any equipment at all.

Well in that case the Peloton bike weighs 135 pounds. It is too heavy to pick up and move on your own but it does have wheels on the front which allows you to roll it if needed.

It is still much easier to move with two people helping rather than one.
